NOTICE No: MT000003554
MODEL: Mazda MPV YEAR: 2000-2001
AFFECTED VINs: Lower than JM3 LW28** 10 179939
SUBJECT: Passenger side front seat belt tightens
DETAILS:
After buckling the passenger side front seat belt, the belt begins to feel too tight and will not allow any forward movement of the passenger.

While pulling the seat belt, the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) mode engages because the seat belt length is too short for some customers.

Seat belts produced after November 1, 2000, are 150mm longer and the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) trip point was increased by 200mm.

Order the following modified PASSENGER SIDE seat belt:
LC62-57-630E-05 (gray RF seat belt)
LC62-57-630E-80 (beige RF seat belt)

NOTE: Seat belts P/N LC62-57-630D may also be the longer modified belt. To check the production date of your seat belt, look at the 'MFD.IN' date and 'ID.NO.' printed on the seat belt label. For example, if the label on your belt was stamped with 'MFD.IN 2000' and ID.NO.1115' that would mean the belt was produced 11-15-00 and was the longer modified belt.
