NOTICE No: MT000003717
MODEL: Mazda MPV YEAR: 2000-2002
AFFECTED VINs: N/A
SUBJECT: Identification of rear heater equipped vehicles
DETAILS:
Symptoms and Conditions
Some customers may complain of 'no heat from the rear heater vents underthe second row seats or from the headliner vents.'

In some cases, the customer's vehicle may NOT be equipped with a REAR HEATER, but may only have rear A/C.

Determination of REAR HEATER equipped vehicles:
Open the hood and look at the heater hoses attached to the bulk head. If the vehicle HAS a rear heater, you will see an additional line attached to each heater hose using a 'T' connection. The additional heater hose lines will run back under the vehicle (under the rear A/C lines,if vehicle has rear A/C). If there is no 'T' and no hoses running to the back of the vehicle, then the vehicle is NOT equipped with a rear heater.

Depending on the vehicle and options, rear heaters are standard with the 'Four Seasons' package, and may be installed on some vehicles with a rear fan speed control switch only. Four Seasons package vehicleshave three rear control switches (fan speed, mode position N temperaturecontrol).
