2000 MPV
Labels for 15" Tires
[Recall #90006]
Dear Mazda Owner:
This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and
Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Mazda Motor Corporation has decided that certain 2000 MPV vehicles built from March 31,
1999 through March 31, 2000 fail to conform to the tire labeling requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard No 120. If you are the recipient of this notice, your vehicle is included in this
campaign.
What is the Problem?
Mazda has learned that on some vehicles equipped with Dunlop or Yokohama
15" tires, the size specification stamped on the side-wall of the tire, the driver's door label and the lire specification
table in the Owner's Manual is incorrectly marked as P205/65R15 92S. The correct tire size is
205/65R15 94S. Additionally, the letter "P" has been removed from the tire size number. As these
tires meet the "94S" specification, they will not need to be replaced as a result of this recall. If
there is a need to replace any of these tires in the future due to normal tire wear, please make
certain the replacement tires have the "94S" rating.
In addition, there is an error on the Gross Axle Weight Ratio (GAWR) diagram on both the
certification label and the Owner's Manual. The English version is incorrect as it Indicates 2,581
lbs.; the correct weight should read 2,630 lbs.
What should you do?
Please affix one of the enclosed revised Tire Labels over the existing label on the drivers door
and the other onto the tire portion of page 10-5 in your OWNER'S MANUAL. An instruction sheet for
proper label application has been provided.
Where is the closest Mazda Dealer?

site and try our on-line dealer locator at www.mazdausa.com/locate.asp
or consult your local yellow pages.
Moved or no longer own a Mazda?
If you have moved or no longer own your Mazda vehicle, it is customary for the current owner of
record to be responsible for completing the enclosed "Change of Address/Ownership" prepaid
postcard, so that we may update our records. Your cooperation and timely response would be
greatly appreciated.
If you are the lessor of a subject Mazda vehicle, we strongly encourage you to forward this recall
notification to the lessee, as it is critical that the current driver of the vehicle is notified of the recall
program.
